Our Mission
The Urban League of Central Carolinas, Young Professionals (ULCCYP) empowers the Central Carolinas community through civic engagement, outreach, and leadership development that fosters growth, promote economic equity, and advances the Urban League movement.
Our goal is to continue enlisting committed young professionals that are willing to give of their time, energy and resources to create change in our community. We realize that individual success is meaningless without the commitment to improve our collective community.

Meet the Executive Team

President
Nneka Ayozie
As President, Nneka serves as the primary leader ULCCYP, presiding over all meetings of both the chapter and the Executive Committee. Nneka manages the chapter’s day-to-day activities, supervises strategic initiatives, and works closely with board members and the affiliate to advance ULCCYP's goals. Her leadership is critical in shaping the vision, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that the chapter remains aligned with its mission and objectives.

Vice President of Strategic Partnerships
Alexanderia Wallace
As Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Alex plays a pivotal role in expanding the reach and impact of the Urban League of Central Carolinas Young Professionals. She cultivates and manages meaningful relationships with corporate, nonprofit, and community partners, driving strategic collaborations that enhance resources, visibility, and professional opportunities for members. Through intentional partnership development, Alex helps advance the chapter’s mission while creating pathways for sustainable growth and community impact.

Corresponding Secretary
Janae cofield
As Corresponding Secretary, Janae manages all external communications on behalf of the chapter, ensuring that members are informed of important updates and meeting notices. She works closely with the Chair to prepare and distribute announcements, while also handling internal communications as directed by the leadership team.

Parliamentarian
laytoya stevens
As Parliamentarian, Latoya ensures that all meetings of the Executive Board and General Body adhere to proper parliamentary procedures and protocol. She provides guidance on rules of order, helping to maintain smooth and efficient meetings. Laytoya also oversees the Policies and Procedures Committee, ensuring that the chapter’s practices align with its bylaws.

Vice President
Kourtney Peterson
As Vice President, Kourtney holds a critical leadership role within the organization. Kourtney is actively engaged in overseeing the work of the organization’s standing committees. She ensures that each committee operates efficiently and stays aligned with the overall goals and vision of the chapter.

Treasurer
Kionte` vinson
As Treasurer, Kionte plays a vital role in managing the organization’s financial operations. He is responsible for overseeing the chapter’s budget, tracking income and expenses, and ensuring financial transparency and accountability. Kionte works closely with the Executive Leadership Team to maintain fiscal health and support the organization’s strategic initiatives.

Recording Secretary
Amber Raiford
As Recording Secretary, Amber documents the proceedings of all chapter meetings, including those of the Executive Board. She ensures the timely distribution of meeting minutes and maintains the chapter's contact information list. In addition, Amber tracks affiliate hours and compiles the chapter’s awards packet, contributing to the recognition of members' contributions.

Empowerment
The Advocacy Committee works to increase awareness of current political, economic, and social issues. They are responsible for promoting civic engagements including local and national voting and census participation events.

Rules
The Policy & Procedures committee develops and maintains organizational guidelines to ensure efficiency, transparency, and alignment with ULCCYP’s mission.

Service
The Community Outreach Committee set the criteria and agenda for ULCCYP community services projects. They are responsible for reviewing and recommending service projects to the Leadership Team, maintaining records on ULCCYP member participation on community service projects, and alerting members to ensure completion of their service duties.

The Professional Development Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of professional development assessments, activities, and other professional development-related services for ULCCYP members.

The Marketing and Communications Committee is responsible for ensuring all members and other relevant stakeholders are well-informed of chapter activities. They also ensure all branding guidelines are met and messaging is consistent with the affiliate’s mission and vision.

The Strategic Partnership Committee drives financial sustainability by supporting and implementing strategies and tactics to help raise funds through our events securing sponsorships, and building strategic partnerships to support ULCCYP Programs.

Family
The Membership Engagement Committee set the criteria for membership, approve the membership of prospective ULCCYP members and determine the annual dues for members. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to planning and executing membership drives and orientating new members.

The Finance Committee ensures the financial health and sustainability of the organization. The committee collaborates with the Treasurer and Strategic Partnerships chair to uphold fiscal responsibility and transparency.
